Walk through the door and find yourself at the bottom of the ocean in the air: fish, rays, a whale or an octopus in motion. This universe in light, completed by a sound device, transports you and recalls the primary function of this place dedicated to contemplation and meditation.

Having based(established) by 1167 by the members of a religious order prémontrés the Compartment God near(about) Auch, the abbey of Arthous is thriving until the XVIth century. His(Her,Its) conventual buildings(ships) are rebuilt and extended in the course of the XIIth and XVIIIth centuries. Having sold as very national in Revolution, she(it) is transformed into farm then given to the department of Landes(Moors). The Romance church, today restored, keeps(preserves) set(group) of modillons and sculpted capitals(big tops). The abbey proposes a cultural programme planning(programming) and shelters the museum of history(story) and of archaeology of the Country of Orthe.
