It is in a historic market-gardening area, the plain of Pau, that the association of the Conservatoire des Légumes Anciens du Béarn -CLAB- became in a few years, a showcase and centre of excellence in the fields of cultivated biodiversity in the fields of market gardening and arboriculture. The cultivated site of the CLAB, with an area of 6500 m², has the particularity of combining in the same place, a vegetable garden and an orchard hence its name of "garden-orchard".
* the vegetable garden presents collections of rare varieties of vegetables, medicinal, aromatic and tinctorial plants. More than 500 species and/or varieties make up these collections. A 20m² pond hosts a very rich flora and fauna; it is a place of observation and permanent wonder.
* The orchard, on the other hand, is made up of about a hundred fruit trees, including about seventy apple trees of old local varieties. A fruit hedge with multiple functions encircles the plot.
