The artist Eric Mezan has created a ceramic trail in different parts of the garden, inspired by portraits, tapestries in the living room, and the names of the raspberry varieties in the collection.

On the occasion of the 2022 European Heritage Days, the artist Eric Mezan is invited to exhibit at the Losmonerie castle.
Sensitive to the magic of the place, he carries out a specific project in the form of a ceramic course unfolding in the different gardens. His works are inspired by portraits of ancestors who inhabited the place over the ages, scenes of fables of La Fontaine adorning the tapestries of the reception rooms as well as the names of the raspberry varieties that the owners cultivate.
They echo the interior decoration of the castle, the architectural elements of the building and the bias adopted for the design of the gardens conceived as an extension of the very interior of their home. During their strolls, visitors are invited to discover the castle and its gardens by following the porcelain works of the artist scattered throughout the course. Their shape is none other than that of the tiles used to cover the roofs of the castle but as magnified by the use of porcelain.
Eric Mézan, visual artist, lives and works in Paris and Perche. He explores and questions the living and its multiple interactions through his preferred mediums: ceramics, photography and sound. The Departmental Council of Indre and Loire recently commissioned him to create a sculpture-sound installation, the «Chant des Abeilles», permanently installed in the park of the Candé castle located a few kilometres from Tours.
