The castle of Bourdeilles is one of the four baronies of Périgord. The first cases(occurrences) relating to Bourdeilles mention a fortified town which, in 1183, welcomed come monks to take refuge with the relics of saint Sicaire there. At the end of the XIIIth century, the body of a feudal building(ship) was established and remains(subsists) even today. During several centuries, torn apart between crown of France and of England, the castle of Bourdeilles will cross many(well) political and religious storms. Defensive at origin, object of many greeds, theatre of bloody epic poems, freed(released) from the English people, it was returned to the count of Périgord by Guesclin. Returned peace, Jacquette de Montbron made build a castle revival in some strides of the medieval fortress. Bourdeilles is also a castle of enjoyment(approval) manifesting the elegance of a new lifestyle. He(It) keeps(preserves) a completely exceptional furniture of collection.
