Let yourself be surprised by the Valandraud castle in Saint-Etienne de Lisse, during a guided tour accompanied by the architect and the cellar master.

If there has been a “sustainable heritage” for centuries, it is the one that has made Saint-Emilion’s world reputation. It is by combining tradition and modernity that the owners of Château Valandraud cultivate the art of the vine. Anxious to preserve this priceless heritage, they designed their new building by inscribing it in the landscape of the vineyards. The cellars are placed between earth and rock, without ostentation but with respect for nature and the surrounding materials.
In addition to this discovery, the CAUE offers you to contemplate the landscape differently in the company of the dancers of Adage, just haloed with their gold medal at the national meetings of the French Dance Federation.

About the location

Château Valandraud
Peyblanquet, 33330 Saint-Étienne-de-lisse
  • Gironde
  • Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The result of the considerable work of a couple passionate about wine, Jean-Luc Thunevin and Murielle Andraud, Château Valandraud was born in 1991 on a plot of 0.6 ha bought with all the savings of the couple. They produced their first vintage in 1991.
The geographical location of this plot, in the valley of Fongaban, near Pavie Macquin and La Clotte, is at the origin of the name «Valandraud»: Val (for vallon) + Andraud ( surname of Murielle which appears on the records of Saint Emilion from 1459).
