In Boitron there was once a castle that was destroyed by the English. It was on «the hill of Boitron». Today, on this hill, which rises to 225 meters, there remains a tower, which served as a windmill, restored in 2001. One sees from this mound the arrows of the cathedral of Sées, ten kilometers away.
In the village, on the northeast face of this hill, is the church of Saint Martin, of Romanesque origin, in the form of a cross with the bell tower at the crossing of the transept.
The quarries of Boitron have been exploited since the 11th century. Some of the stones extracted were used to build the cathedral of Sées.”
