Installed(Settled) at the beginning of the XVIth century, the Big Smithy is among the best keeping(preserving) of Europe. She(It) groups(includes) on the same site of the workshops(studios) of brass and iron productions as Risle livened up(led) during the five centuries. The smithy is placed at the foot of the dike which holds(retains) the water of the river to cross-post(pour) it in two channels(canals) feeding each a wheel. Hydraulic energy allowed putting in movement of the hammer and of the necessary bellows(slaps) a the year smooth running of both ovens of refinery and of oven of boiler room. From 1850, the smithy was converted to the copper by Mr Mouchel without new arrangements(developments), partly kept(preserved), corrupt in no way the previous constructions.
