Saint-Nicolas Church is a religious building of the Catholic faith built in the 19th century on the commune of Beaumesnil in the department of Eure. It depends on the Diocese of Evreux. A parish church named Saint-Nicolas-Saint-Eugène was located northwest of the village, at the entrance of the village on the road to Bernay. It was abandoned and destroyed in the 19th century. The new church was built in 1819 at the request of the Duke of Montmorency-Laval. The side chapels were enlarged in the second half of the 19th century and the false half-cupola with caisson of the chevet was replaced by a false cul-de-four.This church is located just next to the gates of the Château de Beaumesnil. Dating from the Louis XIII period, thus from a few years before Vaux-le-Vicomte and Versailles, it is a rare example of architecture on the border of mannerism and baroque. Masks and multiple ornaments on the facade, monumental chimneys, optical effects in the architecture make it unique.
