Eglise
Rue de l'église, 27430 Saint Pierre du Vauvray
Overlooking the Seine Valley, this remarkable Saint Pierre church certainly has very ancient origins. Indeed, the term «Saint Pierre» and the situation of the church above the valley, suggest an implantation perhaps as early as the Merovingian era.
This church is characterized by a Latin cross plan. A few masonry elements from the 12th century are still preserved in the north wall of the nave and were taken up during the almost total reconstruction of this 13th century church. The building was extensively remodeled in the 19th century with the complete revival of the western façade and the piercing of most of the bays of this building.
