Guided tour "L'Huisne, a water story"
The 6th edition of the Rémalire festival focuses on a living heritage: Huisne, especially in its relations with the inhabitants of Rémalard-en-Perche.
The crossing of the river at Rémalard gave its name to the town: the «re» of Rémalard derives from the Gaulish word ritu indicating the millennial presence of a crossing point, a ford, at this place. The city was built from this passage, along a road that will allow its human, economic and social development.
The visit will be interested in these relations of men and women with their river through the forges, mills of all kinds, tanneries, sand shooters, etc. that punctuated its course. But also to fishing and its immemorial rights, to swimming and more generally to tourism which has long been built around these practices.
The naturalistic aspect, the awakening to the preservation of aquatic environments and their biodiversity will also be at the heart of the walk.
