The cloister of Saint-Taurin was part of an abbey complex of great importance, which was modified several times over the centuries. In decline long before the Revolution, the buildings of the institution were confiscated by the revolutionaries who turned it into a saltpeter. The abbey was returned to the bishopric in 1802 to install the Major Seminary. In addition to a cloister that has been rebuilt several times since the 13th century, all the buildings date from the 18th and 19th centuries, and even from the 20th century, such as the chapel. Later housed in the Vocational School, they were used as back-front hospitals during the First World War. Abandoned by the Church in the 1970s, the buildings were bought back in 1974 by CPAM, which gradually installed its services there.
