Exhibition: Gabrielle Robinne, July 1, 1886-November 18, 1980, is a French actress at the Comédie-Française in 1907 and became a member in 1924. She is one of the first actresses filmed for silent cinema. Towards the end of the 1930s, she shot several talking films directed by Marcel L'Herbier.
On June 11, 1912, she married comedian René Alexandre. Catulle Mendès wrote about her: "Such beauty is enough for the glory of France." It is nicknamed «La Robinne».
She’s an officer of the Legion of Honor.
