Exhibition «Design & Crafts»
12 craftsmen exhibit their creations made during the 2022 design training
The bridges between Crafts, Art and Design are very numerous and allow to open perspectives in terms of creation and outlets for the craft activity. More than ever, craftspeople, especially art craftspeople, must anticipate market developments and win over new customers.
In spring 2016, the first «Design & Crafts» training was set up thanks to the partnership between the Seine-Eure Agglomeration and the Eure Chamber of Crafts and Crafts.
Building on the successes met in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 a 6th edition began with a panel of 12 artisans from Normandy, representing together a nice sample of crafts: Ceramics, cabinetry, creation of knitted clothing for babies, creation of jewellery, jewellery, feather looms, creation of polymer objects, paper design, carpentry, etc. etc.
Under the leadership of Jean-Baptiste Sibertin-Blanc, a ENSCI graduate designer and cabinetmaker who graduated from the Boulle school, supported by Anne-Marie Sargueil, president of the Institut Français du Design, these artisans will implement a “design methodology” adapted to their activity.
During the workshops spread over a six-month period, each artisan develops its “product” approach, breaking down its own universe both individually and collectively by confronting and sharing it with the diversity of backgrounds and know-how.
With the Festival des Métiers d'Art (Festiv'Art) and the Village d'Artisans d'Art project of the Carré Saint-Cyr in Vaudreuil, the «Design & Métiers d'Art» training is an integral part of the strategy of the Communauté d'agglomération Seine-Eure to make its territory a real resource pole in favour of the Arts Professions and more broadly of the lines of excellence.
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Castle of Pinterville, sensitive to the arts and crafts, is delighted to host this 2022 exhibition again, welcome after the interruption related to the health crisee.
