A Canadian photographer of international renown, Edward Burtynsky captures the human imprint on the world. Mounds and voids confronts the fullness and the emptiness, the disparity of the human industrial means in the exploitation of the soils, according to the zones of the globe. The artist shows us the people, the machines, the transformed landscapes kept away from the urban areas. Playing with the scales and technology of virtual reality, the exhibition also invites us to reflect on the image itself: its construction, its power, its limits.
