Heritage and Digital Workshop

with the Norman author David Coulon
from 8 years
From the city’s digital archives on the Old Castle and the Neubourg heritage, this workshop will aim to create a narrative fiction, to make archives speak, in order to produce online content around the history of the Old-Castle and more generally Neubourg. The participants will form two teams each accompanied by an author or an author: from the set of archives, old (plans, cards, texts, etc.) or recent (photographs, postcards), each team will create a story, invent characters, in the mode of gaming, and will confront his production at the end of the workshop. These stories inspired by digital resources and the feelings of the inhabitants can enrich the site of the city of Neubourg, a Wikipedia page or the site of the festival.
This workshop can continue throughout the season in the form of recurring and open meetings.
David Coulon is an author of detective novels, theatre and stage director who lives in the Eure. He won the VSD prize for crime fiction in 2015, and was a finalist in the 2021 Grand Prix for Detective Literature for his latest novel, Biotope. At the same time, he runs writing workshops in various venues (theatres, libraries, prisons, schools, etc...). He is an artist associated with the TANIT Théâtre de Lisieux and runs its theatre company.
Located under the apple trees, the free and intergenerational participatory workshops offer to share the highlights of the festival: music, storytelling, digital and the link to heritage.
