Confintes, muses and artists came regularly to Stéphane Mallarmé’s home, rue de Rome in Paris or more at length to his house in Valvins. This feminine universe constantly inspired the poet in his works until the astonishing magazine La dernière Mode, without forgetting the magnificent poetic fans that he pleased to offer to his new friends.
From Saturday 17 September until Sunday 18 December, the museum has the honor to welcome a new artist in the poet’s house: the Spanish painter Rosa Artero. His paintings reveal a poetic and vibrant atmosphere in a play of light and darkness that suggests remembrance, silence and dream. Close to the artist Marcelo Fuentes, Rosa Artero studied painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Valencia and has been teaching there for several years. Regularly invited to renowned galleries in France, the United States and Italy, his works, with an intimate character, imbue the house so dear to Mallarmé with a breath of sweetness and poetry.
During the weekend of the European Heritage Days, a series of events will be devoted to the exhibition.
