Designed by architect Jean-Claude Bernard, the Hague aux Moines district can be seen as a kind of manifesto for a new form of urbanity. He is astonishing in his search for volumetry, designs of outdoor spaces and new aesthetics. Discover the history and evolution of this once colourful neighbourhood. Guided tour by CAUE 94 (Conseil d'Architecture, d'Urbanisme et d'Environnement). This visit through the Nouveau Créteil of the 1970s will allow you to use the free mobile application «Archistoire». Created by the CAUE 94, it will give you access to photos and videos of archives as well as testimonies of architects and inhabitants.

"The work of architects Jean-Claude BERNARD and Vladimir MITROFANOFF, the district of The Hague-aux-Moines is part of the «Nouveau Créteil» of the 1970s. With nearly 500 housing units, it was inaugurated in 1972\. Originally called “Quartier B” when it was designed on plan, its streets were given names of personalities beginning with the letter “B”.
