Architect Louis Le Masson directed the construction of the St-Pierre St-Paul region in 1790 and 1791. The building was restored in 1819 thanks to an important gift from the Duchess of Angoulême. The great works directed by the architect Jean-Baptiste Guénepin from 1868 to 1870 gave it its present dimensions. A new organ was built in 2011 under the direction of organ builder Bertrand Cattiaux.
