Visit of the exhibition "Entrée-Plat-Dessert. Food in Val-de-Marne from the 18th century to the present day"
From the pantagruéliques meals offered at the table of Louis XV to the menus of school canteens established today, in collaboration with dieticians, the diet is part of a complex historical reality. It is these practical and theoretical relationships with «eating» and «drinking» that "Entrée-Plat-Dessert" wishes to question about a territory that has largely contributed to nourishing Paris since the Ancien Régime. While presenting the picture of three centuries of local productions, whether they are agri-food or they invest in the field of tableware, the exhibition presents the diversity of food practices of the inhabitants of the south-is Parisian on a daily basis or during friendly meals. It shows that food, an issue of public health and society, also questions the existence of a Val-de-Marnaise gastronomic culture.
