The Saint-Mammès lock is an exception on the Loing canal. Indeed, while the majority of the locks are in perré, that of Saint-Mammès is in front.
Discased and intact, the lock house is, with a few modifications, as it was designed in the eighteenth century.
Its particularity is to be topped with slate, in a region where the tile dominates.
