Major medieval building in Ile-de-France, the castle - built in the middle of the XIIth century by Gauthier Ier de Villebéon - is classified as "Historic Monument" and refreshed of a remarkable Gothic chapel. Property of the City of Nemours, it is transformed into museum since 1903\. Two annual temporary exhibitions(exposures) give rhythm to the programme planning(programming) of the establishment, labelled Museum of France, collections of which count more than 20 000 works of art (painting(paint), sculpture, art schedules, photographs, decorative art), especially representative of the taste of the second half of the XIXth century and of the beginning of the XXth century.
