Madness raised originally on the Champs-Élysées in 1778-1779 by the architect Le Boursier for Thiroux de Montsauge, then managing director of the Postings, the Hotel de Massa, classified in the inventory of historical monuments, was dismantled and rebuilt stone by stone in the shadow of the Paris Observatory between 1927 and 1928. The Art Deco furniture designed in 1929 by Maurice Dufrène, the director of the Maîtrise des Galeries Lafayette, to furnish this mansion, is also classified. The Hotel de Massa houses since 1929 the Société des Gens de Lettres (SGDL), founded in 1838 by Honoré de Balzac, Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas and George Sand...

Madness raised originally on the Champs-Élysées in 1778-1779, by the architect Le Boursier for Thiroux de Montsauge, then administrator general of the Postings. Formerly rue de la Boétie, the Hotel de Massa was transferred stone to stone in a plot of the garden of the Observatory in 1927-1928\. The Art Deco furniture designed by Maurice Dufrène, (director of the Maîtrise des Galeries Lafayette) in 1929 is also listed as a Historical Monument.
