After two first novels, Des ballerines de papicha (2011 Vocation Prize) and Des pierres dans ma poche (2016), Kaouther Adimi had a great success in 2017 with Nos richesses (Renaudot Prize for High School Students), an evocation of the legendary bookseller and publisher Edmond Charlot. His fourth novel, Les Petits de Décembre (prize for the Métis Novel of high school students), was published at Seuil in 2019.
Through the crossed destinies of three characters, the author paints a great fresco of Algeria, over a century or so, from colonization to the struggle for independence, until the summer of 1992, at the time when the country falls into civil war.
