The city of Bois-Colombes was created in 1896 as a former district of Colombes. With an area of 192 hectares, the city now has 28,476 inhabitants. Bois-Colombes is a residential town with a business district located in the southern part of the territory. The municipality is marked by rail transport (up to 5 lines have crossed the city, 3 stations are on the territory or nearby). The city has preserved traces of its past: the Tourelles castle (a former holiday villa built in 1983), the former wind tunnel of the Hispano-Suiza factory (installed in Bois-Colombes from 1914 to 1999), the anti-aircraft shelter located under the Place de la République (used during the Second World War) or the City Hall built in the late 1930s.
