The Ministry of Higher Education and Research opens to the public the area occupied by the École Polytechnique before its transfer to Palaiseau in 1976\. The new Ministry of Research was established there in 1981\. The site now houses the services of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The public will be able to discover the Descartes site, the heart of the visit, which includes the Pavilion Boncourt, the Hotel of the Minister responsible for Higher Education and Research, the garden, his office, etc. whose windows overlook the old library of social anthropology founded by Claude Lévi-Strauss at the Collège de France.
