About the location

Domaine national de Champs - Château et parc
31 rue de Paris 77420 Champs-sur-Marne
  • Seine-et-Marne
  • Île-de-France
Built at the beginning of the 18th century, the Château de Champs stands out for its modernity, with the appearance of a new art of living and the search for comfort. It welcomes illustrious tenants such as the dukes of the Vallière, Madame de Pompadour, men of letters and Encyclopedists. Acquired by the state in 1934, it became a presidential residence and 20 foreign heads of state stayed there from 1958 to 1969\. The 85-hectare Château Park is labeled Remarkable Garden, with a classic French-inspired garden set set in an English-style landscaped park. The castle reopened on 29 June 2013 after 7 years of closure and a major restoration project of the monument and its collections. Digital tablets in 3 languages and LSF allow you to follow the visit in a fun and enjoyable way.
