Le Perreux-sur-Marne, a fully-fledged municipality since 1887, is an old district of Nogent-sur-Marne. At the beginning of the 20th century, Le Perreux became a resort, a veritable city that welcomes every Sunday the crowds of walkers from Paris. These walkers come to appreciate the bucolic setting of the banks of the Marne whose banks are arranged over time.
In fact, until the 18th century, pleasure houses were built on the slope without the banks being developed. Only a few wash houses, "laundry boat", public baths or fishing pontoons were installed. The arrival of the railway and the channelling of the river, which facilitates navigation, cause the metamorphosis of the banks of Marne. A path running uninterruptedly along the banks from Joinville-le-Pont to Neuilly-sur-Marne is laid out and quickly invested by guinguettes, boat garages, nautical clubs, etc. In the Perreux loop, the exploitation of the sand of the old river beds is developing. Ferries allow to cross the Marne before the construction of the Bry bridge and the bridge. On the banks, houses of all styles are being built, as well as various public or associative facilities.

Starting with a Type III Republic Town Hall, this is an exciting walk. The path traces the street of 100 steps and continues on a part of the 3 km of banks of Marne going from the Passerelle de Bry to the bridge of Bry-sur-Marne.
The visit is open to all ages, the only difficulty on the path is at the level of the "100 steps" in the direction of the descent.
