Exhibition on the 50th anniversary of the Wakker Prize at the Swiss Foundation
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, dedicated to the theme of sustainability, the Swiss Foundation celebrates the Wakker Prize, awarded for 50 years by Swiss Heritage.
This prize was created in 1972 thanks to a bequest made by Henri-Louis Wakker, a Geneva businessman. Each year, it rewards a Swiss municipality – in exceptional cases, organisations or associations may also be selected – which stands out for its quality urban development.
The selection criteria are among others the revalorization of a site and the virtuous treatment of the historic building, new constructions that respect the sustainable development as well as the overall approach of the municipality in terms of regional planning, development of the agglomeration, transport planning and environmental protection. The prize, endowed with 20'000 Swiss francs, honours a particularly deserving commune in terms of quality urban development.
Exhibition duration: 17/09-16/10 2022 For more information on Swiss Heritage: https://www.swiss heritage.ch/
