This exhibition goes back in time to the first signs of life along the Seine and is interested in the forest environment that shaped the face of the city. It will make you discover the Gauthier wood, the port of Valvins and the successive arrival of the various hamlets that make up today’s Avon.
Exhibition created as part of the exhibition Avon des Sources à l'Avenir, exhibition cycle developed over several years: in 2021, 1st part "Avon se dévoile" then in 2022 the 2nd part "Avon de la Seine à la forêt".

Located in the heart of the city at the edge of Vieux Avon and the modern districts of Butte Montceau and Fougères, the House in the Valley built since 1983, is above all a place of meetings and exchanges for all. A vast cultural complex, it houses a 400-seat performance hall as well as multi-purpose spaces, exhibitions and leisure activities. An eclectic cultural program (classical concerts, jazz, reggae, shows, theatre, dance, conference, exhibitions...) with major events (Jazz Festival, Reggae, Forum of Associations...) make the House in the Valley one of the main centres of dissemination and cultural animation of the South Seine and Marne.
