From April 1942 to February 1944, Hélène Berr, a young Jewish student, kept her diary in occupied Paris. In the course of words, between relative carelessness and anxiety, the young woman shares her daily life in the face of the trap that, step by step, closes on her. Her striking lucidity and her talent as a writer make the Journal d'Hélène Berr a unique and precious testimony. The course is accompanied by the reading of extracts from the Journal put in perspective with the situation of the Jews in Paris under the Occupation.
by Julien Coutant, professor of letters and pedagogical mediator. In the presence of Mariette Job, niece of Hélène Berr and editor of the Journal.
This visit to the Latin Quarter, «in enchanted territory» according to the words of Hélène Berr, continues until the Memorial of the Shoah which preserves and exhibits the original of the Journal. Rendezvous in front of the main entrance of the Jardin du Luxembourg, place Edmond-Rostand (6th arr.).
