Affiche de l'exposition - Conception graphique : Eric LANGER, Département du Nord.

This exhibition is dedicated to the coded universe of the circus and its plastic translations. The characters, backgrounds and colourful spaces of the circus have seduced many artists including, in our collections, Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse and Georges Rouault. Through a flamboyant repertoire of sinuous lines, powerful shapes and colors, on paper or on canvas, they have fixed energy and flexibility, strength and magic, balance games, movements and emotions.
