The chapel owes its name to a person (Jean-Baptiste Beaudelle) who donated his fortune to finance the construction of a hospice. The chapel was built in 1877. At that time, and until the beginning of the 20th century, the place was the true river and commercial port of the city. Today, the chapel is an interpretation center of the city and allows to discover the Airois heritage with 4 thematic films, the reproduction of the relief of 1745, and two touch screens allowing to program the visits on foot or by bike.
