1941, the German staff of Fortress 27 (Festung Pioneer Stab 27) settles in the castle of Paul Dambricourt, 600 m2 of study offices will be built in the park of the castle. Their goal is to work on the implementation of the bunkers of the coast and then, on the sites of the Special Weapons (V1, V2 and V3). In November 1943, the construction of a structure in the hill of the "Rouge –Mont" was decided to protect the personnel of the study service from the Allied bombardments. The work consists of a vast network of unfinished underground galleries, excavated in chalk on the site of an old quarry of the sixteenth century Entirely made of red bricks, The completed work should have consisted of 48 offices connected by 2 long parallel corridors. Guided tours only. A €2 contribution is requested from visitors to participate in the restoration of the site and payment of invoices:-)
