It was preceded by the parish church of the Trinity, dating from the 15th century. The building threatened to fall into ruins and having become too small, gave way to a new construction, the church of Saint Maclou, the first stone of which was laid in July 1877 on a land bequeathed by the Pollet family. Built of brick with Romanesque stone ornamentation, it was opened for worship in 1881 and its blessing took place on April 30, 1882 during important ceremonies presided over by Abbé Bertaux, dean of Saint Martin.
