Musée portuaire de Dunkerque - Théo Chrétien

Within the floating museum, the Guilde barge testifies to the vital role of the boating industry in transporting goods from the port to the hinterland. Its history illustrates the different stages of the evolution of boating in the 20th century.
Built for the Freycinet gauge canals, this barge is first owned by a shipping company that operates it mainly in the transport of coal and sand.
Not motorized at that time, it is pulled from the bank by mechanical tractors.
Duration of the visit: 30 minutes
