Dominating the landscape, an unmissable landmark, the bell tower of Notre-Dame d'Aubenton Church has a very slender octagonal spire, which dates from 1784, while the original form was simply pyramidal. The church itself was built between 1044 and the first half of the 12th century and particularly suffered from the events of war, burned during the sieges of 1340 and 1521\. The most important restorations date back to 1553 and 1812, 1883 and 1984 ... then finally in 2010-2013, with a complete overhaul of the structure and roof of the spire. An impressive structure that is well worth, on a local scale, that of the "forest" of Notre-Dame de Paris. The visit will take place in small groups, with waiting at the foot of the building.
