Meeting-walk about the church of Louvil

The association «Louvil avec vous» and the municipality of Louvil have the pleasure of inviting you to a meeting and walk about his church: "The church of St Martin de Louvil and its cemetery have been the central space of the village of Louvil for several centuries; the monument and burials have been mentioned since the 13th century.

Since then, the church, under the former dependence of the abbey of Cysoing and its abbots, and its surrounding area, have been the subject of many evolutions and restorations until the end of the 20th century.

In the light of the departmental and communal archives, the building and its furniture are now a major part of the town’s heritage".

We give you an appointment on

Sunday 18 September, 10AM and 4PM

in front of the church of Louvil, at the monument to the dead, Place Jean Jaurès, for a visit with José Ziemniak, Professor of History at the Charlotte Perriand high school of Genech.

This walk will allow you to situate the church in its historical and geographical context within the Pévèle, to appreciate the stages of its renovations as well as to admire its artistic and religious heritage .
