The abbey gardens are full of very different spaces. The gardener will introduce you to the esplanade, the meditation alley, the old barns or the beautiful wooded space. With a history of more than 1400 years, the abbey and its park have a lot to tell. While discovering its history, the gardener will take the opportunity to explain to you the maintenance necessary for the beautification of the park.
This year, the team of the Baie de Somme Regional Natural Park will be present to accompany you in these discoveries and to talk about the climatic disturbances in Picardy. A few key figures will help us understand the prospects we can expect and the consequences this will have on our gardens and the ornamental and vegetable plants that grow there. Concrete examples of actions to be taken to rethink your garden and face global warming will be proposed.

His importance was such that in 790 Charlemagne placed at his head one of the highest figures of his court, Angilbert, his adviser. Major abbey of the Carolingian world, it is destroyed in 881 by the invasion of the Normans. In total it will suffer of seventeen destructions. The eclectic architecture of the monument testifies to this turbulent past.
