Ausstellung: Das Bestiarium, zwischen Wissenschaft und Glauben.
Das Bestiarium ist ein literarisches Genre, das im 12. Jahrhundert aus der Fusion einer christlichen Abhandlung über die Interpretation der Natur und der ersten westlichen Enzyklopädie entstanden ist. Es handelt sich um ein gemischtes Werk, das von Spiritualität durchdrungen ist, sich aber auf einen Willen zur wissenschaftlichen Wahrheit stützt, der nach und nach eine immer enzyklopädischere Dimension annehmen wird. Denn in den Abhandlungen über die Zoologie der Renaissance vermischen sich Wissen und Glauben noch immer mit wissenschaftlichen Werken. Diese Ausstellung bietet Ihnen die Möglichkeit, die Motivationen, die kulturellen Grundlagen des mittelalterlichen Bestiariums besser zu verstehen.

Exhibition: The Bestiary, between science and beliefs.
Continuous on Saturdays and Sundays at the opening hours of the BAPSO The Bestiary is a literary genre born in the 12th century, from the fusion between a treatise of Christian interpretation of nature and the first western encyclopedia. It is a hybrid work, steeped in spirituality but based on a desire for scientific truth that will gradually take on an increasingly encyclopaedic dimension. Because in the Renaissance zoology treatises, knowledge and beliefs still intermingle in the scientific literature. This exhibition proposes you to try to better understand the motivations, the cultural foundations of the medieval Bestiary.

Il Bestiaire è un genere letterario nato nel XII secolo, dalla fusione tra un trattato di interpretazione cristiana della natura e la prima enciclopedia occidentale. Si tratta di un'opera ibrida, intrisa di spiritualità ma che poggia su una volontà di verità scientifica che a poco a poco assumerà una dimensione sempre più enciclopedica. Perché nei trattati di zoologia rinascimentale, conoscenza e credenze si intrecciano ancora nelle opere scientifiche. Questa mostra vi propone di cercare di comprendere meglio le motivazioni, i fondamenti culturali del Bestiario medievale.

Le Bestiaire est un genre littéraire né au XIIe siècle, de la fusion entre un traité d’interprétation chrétienne de la nature et de la première encyclopédie occidentale. Il s’agit d’un ouvrage hybride, pétri de spiritualité mais qui s’appuie sur une volonté de vérité scientifique qui prendra petit à petit une dimension de plus en plus encyclopédique. Car dans les traités de zoologie de la Renaissance, connaissances et croyances s’entremêlent encore dans les ouvrages scientifiques. Cette exposition vous propose de de tenter de mieux comprendre les motivations, les fondements culturels du Bestiaire médiéval.

El Bestiario es un género literario nacido en el siglo XII, de la fusión entre un tratado de interpretación cristiana de la naturaleza y la primera enciclopedia occidental. Se trata de una obra híbrida, impregnada de espiritualidad pero que se apoya en una voluntad de verdad científica que poco a poco irá adquiriendo una dimensión cada vez más enciclopédica. Porque en los tratados de zoología del Renacimiento, conocimientos y creencias se entremezclan aún en las obras científicas. Esta exposición le propone intentar comprender mejor las motivaciones, los fundamentos culturales del Bestiario medieval.
