On the occasion of the 2022 European Heritage Days, the Pierrefonds Castle will invite visitors to better understand the links that the monument maintains with its territory: local natural resources, local artisans and insertion projects, transmission and exploitation of know-how through restoration sites, etc. A course carried out in partnership with the National Forestry Office.

Built in the XVth century, dismantled in the XVIIth century, recreated on order of Napoleon III, Pierrefonds is an interpretation(performance) of Middle Ages and of Renaissance. Remarkable for the perfection of the decorations(sets) of the imperial apartments, the castle also receives a permanent exhibition on the restoration(catering) led by Viollet-le-Duc and on the foundries of art Monduit. Cellars done up with sounds and lights: “The ball of gisants”.
