At the end of the 19th century, the Protestant Reformed Church of Douai depended on the Pastor of Valenciennes. The service takes place in a room of the City Hall. A prefectural decree of August 8, 1897 authorizes the construction of the temple . In 1901 the Temple of the Reformed Church of Douai ended on a plot of land located at 70 rue de l'Hippodrome. It was inaugurated on 16 May 1901\.
