Built from 1978 to 1983, the modern art museum is one of the three museum works by the architect Roland Simounet, also author of the Museum of Prehistory in Nemours and the Picasso Museum in Paris. It is located on a land that enjoys a natural environment defined by EPALE and has an area of over 7500 m 2\. Its structural system uses a post-beam structure of reinforced concrete and an infill of matched bricks in panneresse without any cut.
