The Académie des Sciences Lettres et Arts d'Amiens, founded in 1750 by letters patent of King Louis XV, has 36 full members, honorary members and associate-corresponding members in unlimited numbers. Its purpose is to promote and promote culture.
Since 1830 - under the title «Memoirs» - the Academy publishes the texts of the communications delivered during its monthly private sessions.
Some of its sessions are open to the public (that of January and solemn receptions of new academicians).
The Academy organizes competitions (in music, painting, sculpture, photography, literature), exhibitions and symposia: the next one, on the theme of «Masks», will be held on October 13, 2022 at the Institut Faire Faces. It will be accompanied by an exhibition of theatre masks (from 13/10 to 3/11/2022).

Having based(established) in 1746 (letter patent of Louis XV 1750) and state-approved in 1877, the Academy(Regional education authority) counts 36 statuary members as well as corresponding partners and honorary members. She(It) organises a private session a month and a hearing in January, an annual exhibition(exposure) of painting(paint) and sculpture with a Grand Prix(Prize), an annual musical Grand Prix(Prize). The Academy(Regional education authority) is a part of the national Conference of Academies(Regional education authorities) and publishes its reports.
