Come and discover the work of this artist who searched the forests for roots from which he fashioned characters, animals, flowers and other singular and fairy scenes.

The works exhibited here are those of an original and local artist, Michel Maurice (1937-2014), an authentic artist-worker who for 57 long years has patiently searched in our forests of Vosges (Lorraine) roots from which he could make his works.
Yet he did not sculpt. He preferred to draw inspiration from the movements of the roots in order to magnify them and instill a hint of life.
Concerned to preserve the elements of the forest, he did not alter the natural environment. In his own way, he sought to raise awareness among young and old so that, during our walks in our mountains, we could all see the world in a big way. The visit of his museum offers the opportunity to see in another light the beauty of our region.
