Opened in July 2021 in an old desecrated Protestant temple, the new Archaeological Museum of Audun-le-Tiche presents the collections of the High Mosellan Country.
You will discover the most beautiful pieces from the excavations of the Merovingian necropolis of Audun-le-Tiche (classified as Historical Monuments), but also a remarkable collection of Gallo-Roman statues (heads of Minerva and Sirona, Jupiter Cavalier with eel, Apollo...). Finally, you can admire a unique piece with strong symbolism: the Latin Pawled Cross, inscribed under the title of Historical Monuments.
With an exhibition of more than 300m² in 6 rooms including a projection, you will travel through the Palaeolithic eras until the witchcraft trials of the sixteenth century or the foundation of the famous pottery Boch in Audun-le-Tiche in 1748, a company now more than 250 years old, better known as Villeroy & Boch. Finally, on the top floor, a temporary exhibition will be waiting for you on the theme of our large cross-bo
