About the location

Synagogue
49 rue Clovis, 51100 Reims
  • Marne
  • Grand Est
Jews' presence is certified in Reims from the XIth century s. The synagogue is built in 1879 by the architect Ernest brunette in a Spanish-Moorish «spirit». The building(ship) is of eclectic style, movement initiated from 1852 with the construction of the synagogue of the street Notre-Dame of Nazareth in Paris in romano-Byzantine style. The synagogue of Reims illustrates taste more particularly for orientalism, following the example of the synagogues of Verdun and Châlons (1875). Indoors are Candlestick, perpetual light and rollers of law.
