In the room of the paintings, the hanging is dedicated to the genre of the landscape in the image of «Herd in Egypt», the painting of Narcisse Berchère, presented in illustration.

The old(former) palace of the counts of champagne(Champagne) (XIII-XIVth centuries) receives, in its low rooms, the collections of the art museum and of History(Story). It is possible to admire collections of local archaeology, of sculptures and of paintings(paints) there, as well as the chaumontaise, famous glove factory worldwide. A room is devoted to Jean-Baptiste and Edme Bouchardon, sculptors of the reign of Louis XV and native of Chaumont.
