The building(ship), altered in the XIXth century s., is built by 1486 and serves until 1790 as chancellery in the old(former) Imperial City free of Haguenau. Six medieval consoles of the balcony result(come) from the Town hall of the XIVth century s. (destroyed in 1784). The paintings(paints) of the facade date the beginning of the XXth century s. The astronomic clock, with dial with astrolabe, results(comes) from the Historic Museum for which it was realised in 1904 by the business company Hörz installed(settled) in Ulm, in Germany. It is about a copy of that of the Town hall of Ulm. The square tower, built to shelter the archives of the City, was also occupied by the treasure, the office(desk) and the accommodation(housing) of the secretary of the chancellery. The Alsatian Museum presents collections of arts and popular traditions.
