The construction of the current cathedral began in 1703 according to the plans of the architect Giovanni Betto, changed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart. It is about one of the rare cathedrals built in the classical period the facade of which presents characteristics and balance. At the crossroads of the transept, a dome is decorated with a fresco devoted to celestial glory, realised by Claude Jacquart. The master(teacher) altar of polychrome marble is of 1763, stalls were drawn by German Boffrand. Big(Great) organs they was rebuilt in 1861 by Cavaillé-Coll, are listed(classified) in conformance with(for) historic monuments. The cathedral makes the object of a classification(ranking) in conformance with(for) historic monuments since August 9th, 1906 itself.
