Let yourself be guided in this old textile factory and discover how cotton fabrics were made.

A guide will accompany you for a visit of 1h30 in the former textile factory of Grand-Ventron. You will start with the history of the building, then the energies used during the operation of the plant, then you will discover the steps to make a yarn from raw cotton, then the steps to make a cotton fabric.
You will end up in the exhibition hall where there are silk woven paintings and small looms on which you can practice.
All this is complemented by demonstrations of spinning and weaving machines.
You can also discover a 30 HP steam engine in motion at reduced speed, as well as various small machines. The visit ends with the shop where are sold textile articles from the museum, made during demonstrations and made at the museum, but also articles from factories in the Vosges and Vosges.
